A field guide to FDE language
FDE means Forward Deployed Engineer.
FDEDictionary means Forward Deployed Engineer Dictionary: a community dictionary for the words, phrases, shorthand, and field-specific language that Forward Deployed Engineers and adjacent teams actually use.
Anyone with an account can add a definition. New definitions are reviewed before they appear on the site so the dictionary stays useful, readable, and low-spam.
The goal is simple: make it easier to understand the terms people use in real conversations, notes, forums, projects, and everyday work.
How it works
Create an account, add a definition, and it goes into a review queue. Once approved, it appears publicly under that word or phrase. Other users can vote on definitions, share them, or report entries that need review.
FDEDictionary is not meant to be an official authority. It is a practical reference built from user contributions.
What belongs here
Good entries explain a word or phrase clearly, include context, and help someone understand how it is used.
Avoid private information, harassment, spam, copyrighted text, or definitions that are only meant to attack a person or group.
Privacy
FDEDictionary only uses your submissions to review and publish definitions, moderate flagged definitions, and keep the site working. There are no ads, no resale of user data, and no tracking pixels. Your privacy is respected. If you need help, contact support@fdedictionary.com.
Moderation
All new definitions are reviewed before publication. Reported entries may be removed if they are spam, abusive, misleading, or otherwise not a good fit for the site.
